Privacy Policy

Plain-English answers to who we are, what we collect, and what we do with it.

Local SEO Skills ("Local SEO Skills," "we," "us") operates the SaaS application at localseoskills.com, including the AI assistant, briefs, scheduled tasks, deliverables, and related features. This policy describes the information we collect when you use the service, how we use it, and the choices you have.

We wrote this for working agencies and in-house marketers, so we kept the lawyer-speak to a minimum. If you have questions, email privacy@localseoskills.com.

1. Information we collect

Information you give us directly

  • Account details. Your email address (used to sign in) and, optionally, your name if your sign-in provider supplies it.
  • Brief content. The brand and location data you record about your clients inside a brief — business name, addresses, service areas, phone numbers, websites, GBP IDs, target keywords, competitors, brand voice notes, and any other context you choose to add.
  • Brief learnings. Notes captured during your work with the assistant, whether typed by you or proposed by the AI and saved by you.
  • Chat input. The messages you send to the assistant and any files or text you paste into a conversation.
  • Deliverables. Saved tool outputs and reports you choose to keep, such as audits, geogrid scans, and review summaries.
  • Support correspondence. Anything you send us by email or through Discord when asking for help.

Information generated as you use the service

  • Chat history. The full back-and-forth between you and the assistant, including tool calls and tool results, so you can return to past work.
  • Usage stats. Counts of chat messages, geogrid scans, and reports — used for plan limits and product improvement.
  • Operational logs. Standard server-side logs (timestamps, IP address, request paths, error traces) retained for security and debugging.
  • Session cookies. A signed session cookie set by our auth system so you stay logged in. We do not use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Information pulled from third-party APIs on your behalf

When you ask the assistant to look something up, it queries third-party data sources and stores the results alongside the relevant brief or chat. This includes Google Business Profile data, Google reviews, geogrid rank scans, and SERP results returned through the Local SEO Data MCP server. We treat that data the same as any other content in your account.

2. How we use information

We use the information above to deliver and improve the product. Specifically:

  • Run the assistant — pass your messages and the relevant brief context to Anthropic's Claude API for AI processing.
  • Pull the data you ask for — call third-party SEO data providers and return the results in your chat or report.
  • Send transactional notifications — alerts, approval escalations, and daily digests when you opt in to those features.
  • Run scheduled tasks on the cadence you configure.
  • Enforce plan limits and bill correctly when paid plans go live.
  • Keep the service secure — detect abuse, prevent fraud, debug failures, and respond to support requests.
  • Improve the product in aggregate — understand which skills get used, where the assistant is reliable, and where it falls short.

What we do not do. We do not sell your data. We do not use it for advertising. We do not use your chat content, briefs, or deliverables to train AI models — neither ours nor any vendor's. Anthropic's API terms similarly prohibit training on customer inputs by default.

3. Sub-processors and third parties

We rely on a small set of vendors to operate the service. Each one only receives the data they need to do their job, and each is bound by their own contract and privacy policy.

  • Anthropic — processes chat content (your messages plus relevant brief context and tool results) to generate AI responses. Privacy policy.
  • Local SEO Data (api.localseodata.com) — provides Google Business Profile, reviews, geogrid, and SERP lookups. We send the queries you (or the assistant) trigger; results come back to your account. Privacy policy.
  • Resend — delivers our outbound transactional email (alerts, approvals, digests, account email). Privacy policy.
  • Vercel — hosts the application and runs the edge runtime. Privacy policy.
  • Neon — managed Postgres database where your account data, briefs, chats, and deliverables are stored. Privacy policy.
  • Better Auth — powers session and account management. Project site.
  • Upstash QStash — dispatches your scheduled tasks at the times you configure. Privacy policy.

We may add or change sub-processors as the product evolves; this list will be updated to reflect current vendors.

Future integrations

The following vendors are planned but not yet active. We will update this policy before turning them on:

  • Stripe — payment processing for paid plans.
  • Google OAuth — read and write access to Google Business Profile, scoped to the locations you connect, so the assistant can perform write actions like posting updates or responding to reviews on your behalf.

4. Data retention

We keep your account data — including briefs, chat history, brief learnings, and saved deliverables — for the life of your account so you can come back to past work. You can delete individual briefs, chats, or deliverables at any time from inside the app, and a deletion is permanent (no soft-delete recovery).

If you close your account, we delete or anonymize your content within 30 days. Operational logs and backups roll off on their own schedule (typically up to 90 days). If you need a faster deletion or a hard wipe of backups, email privacy@localseoskills.com and we will take care of it.

5. Your rights

Wherever you live, you can ask us to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you.
  • Export your briefs, chat history, and deliverables in a machine-readable format.
  • Correct anything that is inaccurate.
  • Delete your account and the content tied to it.
  • Object to or restrict certain processing.

If you are in the EU, UK, or another jurisdiction with similar laws (GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA, and friends), these rights apply to you and we will not charge you to exercise them. Email privacy@localseoskills.com from the address on your account and we will respond within 30 days.

6. Security

Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest in our managed database. Access to production systems is limited to the operators who need it. We are a small team and do not currently hold formal certifications such as SOC 2 or ISO 27001 — we will say so plainly here when that changes. No system is perfectly secure; if you find a vulnerability, please email privacy@localseoskills.com and we will work with you on a fix.

7. Cookies and tracking

The app uses a single functional session cookie so you stay signed in. We do not run advertising trackers, retargeting pixels, or third-party analytics that profile you across sites. The marketing site uses lightweight product analytics to count page views and feature usage in aggregate; this does not require a cookie banner under the laws we have reviewed because it is not used for advertising or cross-site tracking.

8. Children

The service is built for professional use and is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. International users

Our infrastructure is hosted in the United States. By using the service, you understand that your information will be processed in the US and in the regions our sub-processors operate in. Where required, we rely on standard contractual clauses or equivalent transfer mechanisms with our vendors.

10. Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date and, when the change affects how we use your data, send you an email or in-app notice before the change takes effect. The current version always lives at this URL.
